Mudlarks

A group with metal detectors were busy this morning. Much beeping and digging as the tide went out. One told me that so far he’d found a modern two pence coin. But who knows what the tide will turn up? The Museum of London has lots of stuff from this part of the river.
D is reading a book on the Brook Farm community and read me some amusing excerpts from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s diary about pigs and a calf.
