#Soulac

On our ride up to the tip of the peninsula for lunch today, we stopped off in the pretty seaside town of Soulac-sur-Mer.
Since last summer, they have smartened up the seafront and promenade. They have also made the traffic one way, and built a new cycle lane for the many cyclists travelling up and down the coastal cycle route.
This new 'installation' was proving very popular with people taking selfies or photos of each other next to the giant letters. I like it and it helps bring what was a slightly faded resort a little more up to date.
To the left you can see the Phare de Cordouan on the horizon.
The extra is taken from the same spot looking in the opposite direction.
After a tasty lunch at Pointe de Grave we came back the same way for ice crams on the way back. It was warmer than expected, at 29C this afternoon, but in the gentle sea breeze this was very pleasant.
