Sunflower

What actually attracted me to this sunflower at our front door was the lone ladybird in the middle . A bee was also buzzing around.

Last year ladybirds were numerous in the garden and this year I have hardly seen any - I wonder if that is general or just a local thing.

I was sent 12 free sunflower seeds along with a plant order and 11 germinated. I gave 3 of them to the  3 girls next door, I planted 3 in tubs and the rest in the garden in different places and I can’t believe how different in height they all are - this one is quite small which could be because it hasn’t always had enough water !
