American Kestrel

This morning I went to the wildlife refuge for the first time since April!  It was very dry, most of the wetlands were dried up, and not much wildlife around.  But I know that there will always be something.  This was my first time really trying out the 100-500mm lens I got in June, I have used it on the tripod focused in one place, but to hold it out the car window on the bean bag and move it around this was the first time.  I will need more practice and still need strength in my arm but a fun morning.  I also saw many deer (photo in Extra Photos) and a coyote pup.

Mom is hanging in there, because tomorrow is the Labor Day holiday here calling the specialist will wait until Tuesday morning.
