Alien machine

Weekend, so no more working for work, but working for my mother-in-law instead.

Her new sink and bathroom cabinet need to be attached to the wall, which means drilling through tiles. I've done it before when trying to break old ones up, and found it easier to do than people think, but it's slow and tedious. Drilling options are conventional masonry bit, tile version of the same (an extra Euro or two), specialised tile bits (can't easily get except on-line), glass/tile bits (a few more Euro), or diamond coated coring bits (come in wet and dry forms - lots of extra Euros.). A lot depends on the tiles, a basic masonry bit works perfectly fine on a soft tile but isn't much use on a porcelain tile...

We also have to plumb the basin in, and we will be okay with the hot and cold tails for the tap, but the drain will entail, some new parts and PVC cement...

Today's back blip is a piece of machinery at the Hippodrome. The dog doesn't care about the DIY, and we can just amble round together and not have to worry about what the bathroom tiles are made from. He often barks at things he doesn't understand, oddly he wasn't phased by this...
