Senior Service

After a wonderful weekend in south Oxfordshire with my lovely sister, I split my homeward journey with a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.
It was a lovely sunny day, and although I had not expected it, a service of dedication had just finished for a Submariners Memorial close to the very colourful Naval Service Memorial.
Here, a submarine Captain is chatting to two ex-submariners who assisted at the ceremony.
Upon chatting to him later, and remarking on wearing a full dress uniform of thick wool on a hot day, he also remarked that it is getting a little tight in certain areas too, but he was so proud to wear at the dedication service!
