The Dons

The Don River is one of the major rivers of Russia. It rises in the town of Novomoskovsk, southeast of Moscow and flows for a distance of about 1,950 kilometres (1,220 miles) to the Sea of Azov.

This image is of is Scotland's rival to the mighty Russian river. At 131 kilometres (82 miles) the River Don rises in the Grampian Mountains and flows past Inverurie to the City of Aberdeen where it enters the North Sea.

FC Rostov is a Russian football club based in Rostov-on-Don. The club are currently members of the Russian Premier League and have scored 21 goals so far in 2013.
Aberdeen Football Club (also known as The Dons or The Reds) are a Scottish professional football club based in Aberdeen. The club has scored 36 goals so far in 2013.

Today Rostov has a thick blanket of snow and temperatures well below zero.
Also today Aberdeenshire has thick snow and temperatures well below zero.
