A Bird in the Hand...

...is worth two in the bush.

I normally don't get red-winged blackbirds to land in my hand at the Metro Park. But, I had a good feeling about Rufus here. I had a feeling that he wanted to tango, so I switched lenses in preparation. I wasn't wrong.

In fact, he stayed so long on my hand that I had to shoo him off, so the other smaller birds could have a turn.

Just after this encounter, three of us saw a pileated woodpecker, but it was too far off for me to get a good shot.

It was a fun morning.
