Iona

We spent the day on Iona today. The morning started grey and misty, but by lunchtime it was clearing up and the afternoon was beautifully sunny and warm. We walked to the north end of Iona, sat on the beach for a bit, paddled in the sea and then headed down towards the vilage for a cup of coffee before getting the ferry back to Fionnphort.

In the early evening we found that the caravan was surrounded by a flock of goldfinches, mainly made up of juvenile birds (see extra). They were feasting on the many seed heads of the flowers. We enjoyed watching them for a while and I managed to capture some photos through the caravan window.
