Ice Station Ratho

So this weekend I was meant to be up at CIC hut on Ben Nevis again, but give the weather the other guys and I thought we'd give it a miss. Gale force winds on the UK highest peak didn't seam overly appealing. So we decided to meet up at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena. Now I generally climb at EICA alot during the winter, so I feel I quite used to how cold it is. Today though it was VERY cold. Partly due I think to the new window installed by the brisk Scottish wind. The recent storms have ripped a large section of the fabric wall away. It was absolutely Baltic!

Great day climbing though. Proper winter climbing!
