3 - 4 India Buildings Entrance

We pulled ourselves together for our trip up to Aberdeen tomorrow to visit our niece.  She moved there last year to take up a teaching job and this is the first chance we've had to visit.

This four-storey Scots Baronial / Jacobean building on Victoria Street was designed by David Cousin for James Lawson in 1864.   In 2018 the Virgin Group bought it to develop into a luxury hotel which would open in 2020.   In 2019 the work was delayed for a year after the archaeological dig found remains of buildings going back to the 10th century which pre-date Edinburgh Castle and the founding of the town burgh by David 1 by about 200 years!  There's been lots of activity and scaffolding for a while but I'm not sure of the timescales for the hotel.

I was put through my paces at this morning's run.  All the way up Myreside Road, Craighouse Road, Morningside Grove and Greenbank Lane before hitting a flat section.   We used the Braidburn foot path to cut through to Colinton Mains Drive.  The eventual lengthy downhill run back to the start did not compensate adequately for the steep uphill start!   Still jiggered!
