What remains of Monmouth viaduct

Day 2 of the Wye Valley Walk from Tintern to Monmouth 29,000 steps/ 76 floors
After a super dinner at Parva Farmhouse and delicious breakfast ( turns out the couple who own it were once at the Walnut Tree in Abergavenny which has Michelin stars ) we set off. The bar is set quite high for subsequent B& B /restaurants!
It’s rained most of the day, even up in the woods, we were sodden.
At one point in Redbrook we crossed over the river to the opposite bank. The river marks the boundary between England and Wales so we went into England and are now back in Wales !
The walk doesn’t always follow the river so we’ve been up and down a bit. When the rain stopped briefly the scenery was glorious. Here is the remains of the Monmouth viaduct just as we came into the town. Off to explore shortly and dinner in an Italian restaurant.
