Moody mountains

The forecast was poor for today so I decided on a valley walk. Up to St Nicholas de Bujarelo at the foot of a pass and old trade route over to Gavarnie in France. It wasn’t actually as bad as predicted so I was able to enjoy my picnic in the dry with a view of the old packhorse bridge at my far point (extra photo). Lots of pink autumn crocuses lining today’s route. The shiny rooftops on the distant building are the ex-Parador - built during the civil war it sadly stands empty now - when I was here 40 years ago it was still open as a Parador.
