Tour of Britain Stage 6

The stage rolled out of Carlisle and we chose to ride about 35k to meet it at Sebergham where there is a steep downhill followed by a steep, uphill. The uphill is steep but short and did not slow the riders down much at all. The race was still together no breakaway. I’d forgotten how exciting it is to see a bike race. The anticipation as countless police motorbikes and team cars come through first, the excitement when you first hear the helicopter so you no the race is close. The fist glimpse of the riders. Then watching them all come through together hoping to spot one of your heros. Then as soon as they arrived the riders are gone. A gaggle of team cars then it’s the traffic that was stuck behind the race.

In this shot has Silvan Dillier of Alpicin Fenix out front behind him are Matteo Jorgensen of Movistar, Richie Port and Rohan Dennis of Inneos, Davide Ballerini has his tongue out and near the left hand side you can just see Julian Allaphillipe in the world champions bands
