The Grinders

The guys raked out and repointed the chimney stack today. The remaining pot was cracked so had to be removed, and the other pot had previously been removed with the flue capped off. Next week, I’ll be going to the reclamation yard in Staffordshire to pick up a couple of reclaimed pots. 

The work on the stack took the whole day, the morning spent raking out the  old mortar, and the afternoon was spent repointing. 

We’re having the whole house done, think it’s going to be like being in the dentist’s chair for two weeks! Argh!!
