Old Castle Lachlan

We left Luing yesterday, promising ourselves that we would be back! What a lovely time we had there, we were sad to leave.

Stopped at a site overnight.  The people were all friendly but it was quite expensive and rather run down. Still, I got all the laundry done and we were able to have showers. There was only one working female shower, presumably because the site catered mainly for static caravans and big motorhomes, who have their own facilities. It was tiny and there was no way of keeping your clothes or towel from getting soaked!

Still, it was on the beach and Lottie enjoyed herself and we were able to get fish and chips for tea!

Today we drove to Inveraray, via Ardrishaig, with lovely views and scenery along the shore of Loch Fyne.  We sat and had our lunch at the open door of the van, watching the water and the boats and enjoying the sunshine. It was a pretty place and we had a bit of an wander round, but it was very busy. Far too many folk about!

We stopped at old Castle Lachlan in the afternoon. A good walk up to the ruin, round the shore, over a bridge and along a nice track. A lovely spot. Interesting castle, high up with commanding views over the loch. As you can see, Lottie was impressed!

No sooner were we back at the van than the rain started, and it carried on all night! Luckily we had restocked our food supplies today, so we were able to have a nice meal  and settle down with our books for the evening!
