Praetorian Guard

I cycled to the British Museum to see the Nero exhibition.
During this pandemic I discovered the joy of podcasts and by doing so discovered a podcast called The History Of Rome.
I hated history at school. It bored me senseless.
But now I am addicted to Roman history. It's nuts how I can see the same things happening now that happened then. Greed, ambition, wealth-grabs, no justice for the powerless.
Anyway, I loved this piece of relief. The Praetorian Guard nearly destroyed the Roman Empire in the 3rd century. Here they are merely Emperor Nero's elite bodyguards.

I also played football in the evening.
Cycling, football...that's enough exercise for one day.
