Chaffinch

Very occasionally I might have a chaffinch in the garden but I think they are happier in parks, woodland and more open spaces than a Glasgow garden.

I've seen them at Cambo Estate, Culzean Country Park, Dumfries House and at the Heritage Park. According to Google the Chaffinch is one of the most widespread and abundant birds in Britain and Ireland ... common they might be but not in urban areas.

This is one of a number who were flitting about in the Rothesay Garden at Dumfries House
