Cold canoe

Went for a run along the towpath today. It was snowing and the wind was very cold. The river was rough and flowing very quickly. This bloke must have been freezing, as he battled his way against the current, past some moored boats, with Petersham Meadows behind. I took some prettier pictures, including one of magnolia buds foolishly bursting open, but this picture captured the battle with the elements better than anything else.

I can't remember a year when I've been so keen for warmer weather to arrive. You can miss the changing seasons in London, but this year spring's late arrival is a favourite topic of conversation for most people you meet.

Thanks for the kind comments on yesterday's Gerbera blip.
