Töniweiher

Today was our office‘s annual sustainability day, where as many of us as possible work on an environmental or social project. The last few years we have been going to the Töniweiher, a frog pond conservation area, where all the grass and reeds have to be cut back and collected and taken away. Without this, the pond would be choked, and dry out, as there isn’t a stream feeding it.
It is really tough work, mowing with a scythe and raking, then carrying up to the road for collection. We also had plenty of breaks, with some delicious cakes and treats baked by the ladies of the pond’s nature friends group. Even a pizza delivery out in the forest for lunch. There were lots of frogs, and also this Molche, or salamander.
