Geology

We went along the coast a bit on the bus, stopping at Hunstanton and Old Hunstanton, where these wonderful ancient rocks are.  The tide was right in but we avoided getting wet. The elderly man in the photo was a bit eccentric I think. He was throwing rocks back up towards the cliff to “ protect the beach “ he said. Had his work cut out.
After that we went to Titchwell RSPB bird reserve. We’re always a bit out of our depth with these places because we’re both pretty clueless about birds, and especially coastal birds. We don’t like to ask for fear of appearing stupid! And you have to have a bit of a clue in order to look things up.
Think the second extra is a red shank.
The first is a water deer, not native to this country but imported from China and Korea in the late 19th century. It was surprisingly good at swimming!
