Waiting For Departure

Most of the time I forget to watch out for the ducks and stumble along, scaring them, so they fly off before I've had chance to observe them. Today however there were a few perched on a fallen tree which I saw from a distance and had the foresight to go into stealth mode. 

It's not the most appealing scene in terms of light, but I it does allow for the colourful Wood Ducks to show off their plumage and markings. I have seen them at this time of year before so I was hoping they might show up. I'm guessing they will be departing soon for winter.
