Ladybird

I was thrilled to come across this little ladybird (5mm max) on a rose bush on this very windy day, after I'd already taken photos of some flies. All the spiders seem to have gone with the wind and rain but no doubt they've found a sheltered spot and will return.

The rose bush is covered in aphids so the ladybird will have plenty to eat. I checked on it after the latest downpour and it was safe on the underside of a leaf. I hope it invites its relatives and friends for the feast.

Extra: rear view of fly on the rutaceae.

Thanks for hosting JDO. Stay well all.
