Detective Chief Inspector Maigret

I have always had a liking for Maigret stories on TV the celebrated pipe smoking detective being played firstly and brilliantly by Rupert Davies also Michael Gambon and most recently Rowan Atkinson....in 2013 Penguin republished the entire 75 novels so I'm starting at the beginning with Pietr The Latvian written in 1929....so far very absorbing and readable
