Stealing the new leaves

New Zealand native wood pigeon - kereru in a flowering cherry tree, eating not only the new leaves but the flowers and buds. which was interesting as there was a beautiful flowering kowhai, which is a native tree, nearby,  with no pigeons in it. The flowering cherry, not a native tree had 3 native pigeons in it.
