Quite a day!

Called in to give Jet a quick walk on the way to York Hospital. Grabbed a quick blip.

Richard had a colonoscopy following a bowel screening test. A polyp was removed which we knew had cancerous cells in it. Following more scans and a multidisciplinary meeting of doctors to discuss options for treatment we had an appointment with the consultant. Fortunately the news was better than we had anticipated. The cancer had been caught in the early stages and whilst guarantees could not be given it did not appear to have spread. So close monitoring for five years. Well done to the Bowel Screening Service for picking this up.

Home to have a discussion with the builders about the state of the stonework. It will be more expensive as more stone will need replacing than first thought. Somehow this paled in significance to the earlier news. Just good to have good builders who will do a decent job and have kept us well informed. The joys of living in an old Georgian property that has had various extensions throughout Victorian and Edwardian times. See extra for the current state of work
