Day Out

A fine late summer day. Off to the Helix in Falkirk. Home of the Kelpies. The park is a haven for dog walkers, perfect for cyclists (the paths are all wide enough so that there is space for everyone. It really is well designed and laid out.) and joggers. We encountered several groups of cyclists on all manner of bikes, tandems, electric, one without pedals but driven by the arms, more tandems, side by side tandems, scooters all in aid of getting those less able, for whatever reason, to get out and about and enjoy the experience through a buddy system. Commendable.

A tea and a sandwich was taken by the loch (I’d recommend using the café or vans actually at the Kelpies. The one beside the loch uses the hot water destined for coffee and that just isn’t hot enough to make decent tea).

After that I had more dental work scheduled. With dread I took to the chair.

“Just a scale and polish and that’s you.” She said. I could have kissed her – although the mask and visor she was wearing would have rendered that an unrewarding experience. And due to covid they are not to be using the ultrasound weapon of torture. Bonus!!!
