Fighting swans

I met up with a friend at a favourite wetland area yesterday. We sat in the sun chatting and putting the world to rights before heading for a walk around the water. It was busy and ferocious out on the water, one Cob swan was chasing off any other swans who thought to enjoy any part of the water and would cover a distance quickly to see them off. Eventually all swans other than his partner left and the water was tranquil again.
