Feeling the Blues

Campsite planting illuminated at night.

We tried the campsite restaurant last night. It has been through several quality iterations since we first visited Ribamar. On our last visit it had become truly dire! A recently introduced management by a local chain of meat producers/restaurants promised well. It had been a hard day ... I didn't feel like making my own, so off we trotted.

I think that we caught them on a bad day but it showed promise. Second best homemade Croquettas to date, certainly the largest, absolutely the hottest and crispiest! Yummy!

Sadly, much as we love this place, we don't think that we shall stop for long. It's hot, it's busy, there are too many undisciplined dogs, and it's plagued by both flies and er, loud and entitled Brits. Heard last night in the bar - customer to Spanish staff in exasperated tones: "Oh, can't we just speak English!"

It's mortifying.

The site is set to be full from tonight for the whole weekend so we are tending towards bolting for the hills in the morning.

For the moment, the last of the Smidge is helping to keep the flies to a tolerable level. So glad that I remembered that it was on board but we are running out fast. The antihistamines are taking a battering too. I am more bite than skin in several places...

Ordering Smidge supplies when we get home. The Customs and delivery charges will be frightening but the stuff works.
