Wild things

Picked up a car club car and drove up to Bamff, where we had booked one of the yurts for a couple of nights. First time we emerged from the yurt I saw something struggling through the grass - thought from a distance it was a grasshopper with a limp, but on close inspection it turned out to be a tiny toad - body only a couple of cm long. See extra.

Then after eating something we went down to the burn to see if we could spot a beaver. Oh yes. A youngster out nibbling the sedge, an individual who made off down stream, and then a pair of them, heading downstream to where they're currently working on a lot of trees. This was the lead beaver, probably a male by his size. We were slightly bothered by midges, but this was more than worth it.
