Megapotamicum

The sweet peas might be over but my collection of Abutilons is just about reaching peak flowering. All but one - Abutilon  'Aphrodite' - are now in flower. Today I've photographed Abutilon megapotamicum, the trailing abutilon. The large red calyx and yellow petals resemble little lanterns which open in sequence along the arching stems. This is probably the commonest form of Abutilon available in the UK.
