The dropped stitch

By Bodkin

the old bike

A while ago, when A. emptied the Bothy, along with many years of pigeon droppings, some interesting items came out. An old stretcher from the time it served as a hospital in the First World War, leather horses collars and cart wheels from the early days of the farm.

No-one is sure of the history of this old bike, but I'm glad it wasn't just hurled into the skip. It's never going to be ridden again, but it has been carefully set up by the wall, still on the farm where it belongs.
