Glen Nevis - view up the back of the Ben

This is a view across Glen Nevis to Carn Dearg which rises in front of the Southwest face of Ben Nevis. The tourist path zigzags up the left of this picture (by the twig) then runs on a rising traverse right to the bealach before heading up about the same ascent again up the mountain itself.

However, today the second half of the ascent is obscured by the clouds of snow and spindrift blowing off the top. The winds at the top have been slightly less, peaking at 70mph today, so still gale force and totally unwalkable. The forestry track we are on is littered with branches and pine needles plus the occasional fallen tree. It is still very blustery and we were worried by the thrashing of the trees on several occasions, but it was far preferable to being up high.
