Hakatere Station Landscape

A day trip to the countryside took us to Hakatere Conservation Park, which includes the high country sheep station, which was settled in 1857. The buildings (see the extras) were used to house the station's workers. I'm not sure if the station is still in existence, but the buildings are empty, and are now a place of interest to visit, with information boards and picnic tables.

The chickens in the extra were at Methven, in Mid Canterbury.
