Getting the sparkle back

Montagu Bridge

In Dalkeith Country Park where T and I went for a gentle expedition. The bridge was built between 1790 and 1792 by Robert Adam to celebrate the union by marriage of the Buccleuch family and the Montagu family. Robert died before the bridge was completed and it was his brother James who handed it over. The park is well worth a visit - the palace is very impressive and Restoration Yard, the former stable block has a good cafe. I had an ice cream - very naughty but I had been dreaming about ice cream all summer!
