Strictly

A real treat today was a WI coach trip to visit the factory that makes the clothes for the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. The whole visit was a feast of colour and texture. We learned how the dresses are made in just three days, even though all the thousands of sequins are applied individually. The clothes are available for sale on the Monday following the programme, but as the cost upwards of £2000 I don’t think they sell very many. Many are adapted and reused for other versions of the programme in other countries where Strictly is franchised. They are also available for hire. We had a tour of the workshops, and we were overcome by the beautiful fabrics and their stunning colours. The needle women amongst us enjoyed the needlework. I have posted some extras, I couldn’t resist them!
