Wartime childhood

I have just started to read this childhood account of World War 2. The author was 13 years old when the War began, and she writes about bombs, air raid shelters, evacuation, food shortages, homes destroyed, fathers away at the war. All the things you would expect to hear about. She was German, but that doesn’t change the story really.
