Zinnias

My young neighbours planted these in the front garden. I love them, but I tried and failed to grow them from seed when I had an allotment.
People often ask if I miss the allotment. The answer is yes and no. It was wonderful until hoses were banned and the tap was located too far away and we began to have weeks and weeks without rain in our part of London. Someone told me that Richmond Hill was causing the drought on our patch, something to do with air currents. Anyway, it was just too hard to water the whole thing with cans, especially as I could no longer do as much as I used to. But I do miss those early mornings with the plants.
A day of chores for me. I’m enjoying The Hummingbird by Sandro Veronesi.
