The Mighty Combin Range

… from the Col, Bec de l’Aigle (Eagle’s Beak). It is strange to think that in 1982, a lifetime ago, with my great friend Maria, I climbed the Grand Combin in the background of the photo. At 4,314m this is one of the highest peaks in the Alps and we did it as a training climb before going to Tibet. So this photo is for Maria in Memory Lane. 

The extras are of my favourite view of the Petit Combin and the Louvie Hut next to Louvie Lake. I had never been on this very photogenic walk before, so thanks to Josiane for introducing me to it!
