Postcard from Edinburgh

Every time I arrive in Edinburgh by train and get my first glimpse of the castle I think back to that American visitor who once said to me:” Gee this city is great! but why did you build your castle so close to the railway station?”

Today was the first time I had been there for over two years and the occasion was to catch up on some gallery visiting now the tourists have gone.
Top of my list was the exhibition of Karla Black  (see extra) who makes work from everyday material at the Fruitmarket gallery. It did not disappoint.
