Bald Eagle

These old stables are on the outskirts of Thewall. Thewall has featured before on my blips. For 13 pence you can be rowed across the Manchester Ship canal on the Thewall ferry. But it will cost you £25 on the return journey. I jest of course. The price is the same in both directions. Thewall also claims to be the smallest city in England, well a sign on the pub wall says so, but no charter has ever been discovered.

Despite their rather run down appearance the stables have tremendous character and the horses look very well cared for. The ones in this first group of stalls enjoy sunshine most of the day as well as the distraction of cars passing by on the road in front. At one point or another they all popped their heads out of the stable door, but unfortunately not all at the same time. It was too cold to stand and wait to see if this would happen. Another time.
