bike 180 - ride day 85

the ride in featured the awful gravel road re-surfacing that we are subjected to each year. i guess it is the cheapest way of re-surfacing a road. it is coated in tar and then gravel is poured on. this means that for the first few days cyclists are sprayed with gravel from each passing car and the risk of punctures is very high.
after a couple of days, the gravel begins to pile up at the side of the road as the cars move it outwards, making riding difficult.
the ride home was via my local-ish bike shop to collect the rebuilt wheel for the kaffenback. i won't tell you what it cost but suffice to say, i won't be sending any more servicing work the way of pedal power...
