An Ambition Realised

Today MrsDroog and I finally visited the former bomber base at Old Buckenham. Its occupants during the Second World War were the 453rd Bombardment Wing (H) of the USAAF, a B-24 unit. Two of the personnel who flew and fought among their number were the actors James Stewart and Walter Matthau.

It's a lovely site, still an active airfield, and the volunteers make a splendid cup of tea. Do visit if you can.
