Black Arrow

Full-size (hollow) replica at Sandown Airport. The real ones were built on the Isle of Wight by Westland Aircraft at East Cowes. Their engines were based on Black Knight, and also tested at the High Down facility at Alum Bay. It was one of these that in 1971 launched the only UK satellite, Prospero, to study the effects of space weather on communication satellites; Prospero operated for two years, and remains in orbit to this day.
