Come By The Hills.

My wife and older son went to a funeral this morning. They came back for lunch. Amongst the subsequent chat he spoke of his plans for climbing Ben Nevis on Monday. I decided as my new read (finished a book on Wednesday) to start to read Come By The Hills by Cameron McNeish, Scottish mountaineer and Munroist, author and broadcaster. It felt appropriate. Age and injury are catching up with him, in this book Cameron shares his adventures from journeys in Scotland on foot, by bike and in his wee campervan. We three went to a launch event for his previous book There’s Always The Hills (autobiography) at University of Glasgow in different times. Older son and my wife went to a shopping centre for a few things after lunch; I stayed home and read.

Watched some sport on TV. Followed a few matches from the Golf on Day 1 of the 43rd Ryder cup at Whistling Strairs Golf Course. And Glasgow Warriors first game in the URC for this season; lost 35-29 in Ulster, tight affair.
