Redcar Steelworks

We were orienteering on an area of reclaimed land and sand dunes at South Gare. 

Along one side was the derelict Redcar Steelworks which occupies 600acres of land. Work is now underway to clear the site and make way for new “green industries” and create new jobs for the area. So next time we come here it may be a different landscape.
