To the museum

The weather has been very nice the past week.  An Indian Summer.  This weekend we were going to Leiden and The Hague for a visit to the Museum of Antiquities.  The museum is in Leiden, but we booked a hotel in The Hague.  The museum included an exhibition about the Limes that Bert was interested in and one about Doggerland, the drowned land under the North Sea.  The large photo shows a reconstruction of 'Krijn'.  This was made following the discovery of a fossil skull fragment in the North Sea.  The fossil is from the first Neanderthal in the Netherlands.

Extra 1 is a photo of a monument to the young Rembrandt.  Rembrandt was born in Leiden.

Extra 2  is a photo of a manhole cover with the logo of Leiden University.  This is probably not a real manhole cover, but that does not make it less beautiful.
