Nicky and her Nikon

High tide

I never sleep well in a strange/new bed and true to form I did not sleep well last night. I was lying awake wondering if I should get dressed and go down to the sailing club to photograph the sunrise, but the sky did not look that promising and was rather cloudy so I decided to leave it.

After breakfast we took Xena for a walk along the coastal path, which we can access from the house without having to drive anywhere. It goes on and on and we could have walked forever but we had to stop after a while and turn back as we had plenty to do today. It was high tide when I photographed this old fishing boat in the docks for repair.

It was a day of boring chores, with visits to B&Q for DIY things and then the garden centre to get other bits and pieces and finally we found a Tesco Superstore where we got more stuff. Back home for a late lunch - with no furniture we ate standing around which is not very relaxing.

After lunch I went out to photograph some birds, while Gavin assembled a storage unit for the wardrobes. It was so warm and sunny with everyone out and about enjoying ice creams from Mr Whippey that I went back to the house and told Gavin to come enjoy the sunshine and have an ice cream. We ended up going for another walk for about an hour before going back to the house. The extra was taken at low tide of the boats on the sand.

We went next door to the local pub for a quick supper. We do find Norfolk people so friendly and welcoming - there was another couple at the pub with two Vizslas, dogs are very welcome there.

Tomorrow we are waiting for the BT man to come and connect up the broadband but our neighbour has already warned us that there was some problem with the cable, so it may not happen.
