The Big Apple

The apple is a very important crop in Villaviciosa, partly because Asturias has enough rain to grow apples, partly becase the apple can grow on the Ría estuary, partly because with the apple an Asturian can make cider...  Villaviciosa is one of two towns that claim to be the capital of Cider Country. This stainless steel apple was erected several years ago, where the access road from the Oviedo motorway crosses the ring road round the west of Villaviciosa.
