Hopeful sign

This lilac bush has been sickly for years. Finally this year it is looking healthy and starting to flower. I like the colour contrast of the purple on the outside of the blossoms and the paler mauve on the inside.
 
Day 2 of the vote for Australian bird of the year. Today I voted for the lyrebird.
